|Work Title:||Nocturne to the Victoria Harbour《維港夜曲》 (Chinese orchestra)|
|Year of Premiere:||2000|

As the title suggests, the music portrays a night scene of Hong Kong’s Victoria harbour. Crossing the harbour in a ferry, you can feel the breeze brushing your skin, and you cannot help feeling captivated by this charming harbour scene at night. The music opens with wave after wave surging in from afar. It is followed by the theme which consists of different elements that slowly bring the music to its climax before it comes to a brief close. Written in 2000, this piece was premièred by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and later performed by various Chinese orchestras. A Singapore première took place in 2002, while a New Zealand premiere in 2007, Taiwan and Malaysia in 2009. The music was awarded Bronze in the ‘Xinyi Cup’, granted by the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture of China and the China Nationalities Orchestra Society for distinctive works for Chinese orchestra by young composers.
