1717 年,英國國王喬治一世在倫敦泰晤士河舉行盛大的遊船活動,作曲 家韓德爾(George Frideric Handel)決定創作了一個多小時的《水上音樂》 組曲助興。喬治一世十分喜歡那音樂,更要求樂師們將全曲奏了三次。「號 角舞曲」是組曲中一首著名的樂曲,裡面經常使用了對答演奏的方式。

“All Hornpipe” from Water Music Suite

In 1717, the King George I held a journey on the River Thames, and famous composer George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) decided to write Water Music Suite for this event. It is said that the King had the music played three times during the outward and return trips. “Alla Hornpipe” is one of the famous pieces in the suite, featuring dialogues between different instruments
